About

The McKenzie County Building Department oversees and enforces various codes, including the North Dakota State Code and fire, life and safety codes within the county. The department's goal is to help create a community where people can live safely, comfortably and economically. Their duties include reviewing building permit plans and conducting necessary inspections during construction. Since July 9, 2012, permits are required for all new construction projects.
