Powers and Duties
The McKenzie County Park Board is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance and operation of parks and recreational areas within the county. Its duties include managing park facilities, ensuring the upkeep of trails, campgrounds and other public spaces, and promoting recreational activities for residents and visitors. The board works to enhance the quality of life by providing accessible, well-maintained green spaces and recreational opportunities.
The board has the authority to acquire land, develop new parks, improve existing facilities and establish policies for park use. It can levy taxes or secure funding through grants to support park development and maintenance projects. Additionally, the McKenzie County Park Board collaborates with local communities and other stakeholders to plan for future recreational needs and ensure that parks are safe, enjoyable and meet the needs of the public.
