Fee Waiver Process for Natural Disasters or Unfortunate Events

If you or someone you know has been affected by a natural disaster or other unfortunate event that requires waste disposal at the landfill, you may request a fee waiver.

Procedure

  1. Complete the Fee Waiver Request Form: Available at the link below this list, the form must be filled out and either dropped off at the landfill or emailed to jmeadows@co.mckenzie.nd.us
  2. Review Process: The Landfill Director and Operation Supervisor will review the application.
  3. Board of County Commissioners Meeting: If the application is complete and reasonable, landfill staff will schedule a time for it to be heard by the Board of County Commissioners, which meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Attendance at the meeting is encouraged to address any questions.
  4. Approval Notification: Submission of the waiver form does not guarantee approval. The Board of County Commissioners will make the final decision, and you will be notified if the waiver is granted.

Note: Approval of a fee waiver does not exempt you from following landfill policy. Please refer to the landfill regulations tab for detailed policy information.
