Recorder Fee Schedule

Recording fees for documents at the McKenzie County Recorder's Office are as follows: $20.00 for documents with 1 to 6 pages, $65.00 for 7 to 25 pages and $3.00 per page for additional pages beyond 25. If more than 10 related document numbers or land sections are listed, a fee applies: $3.00 per extra document number and $1.00 per extra land section.

A 3-inch margin at the top of the first page is required for recording information. Failure to leave this space results in an additional page fee. Margins of 1 inch on one side of each page are also required, with a $10 fee if not provided. Font size must be at least 10-point Calibri unless issued by a government agency.

As of August 1, 2017, only one of two statements of full consideration will be accepted on a deed or affidavit of affixation: either a full consideration statement or a statement citing an applicable exemption.
